More glue: Introducing Enterspeed Destinations

In the era of Composable Architecture, gluing things together is more important than ever. Composable Architecture is a fancy way to describe how modern websites are built using many different tools, services, and data sources. Gluing services and data sources together is often the most time-consuming task in building a new website. Even though the term "composable architecture" has only gained traction in the last few years, there is nothing new about coupling data from multiple systems together to create a coherent user experience.

The new aspect is that "composable" is emerging as a design pattern with established ways of integrating various services and systems. One piece of evidence is that you will be hard-pressed to find any system or service that doesn't offer an API of some sort. Another piece of evidence is that the tooling has become much better, and both new and existing players in the space are sprouting out new services to solve this particular problem. Enterspeed is, of course, one such service.

Enterspeed is glue

We often describe Enterspeed as glue, and we are proud of it. The primary use case for Enterspeed is high-performance APIs, but in the last two years, we have been building a growing number of what we call Destinations.

Using Enterspeed Destinations allows you to easily integrate with third-party services such as Algolia or Relewise, or build your own custom integrations using webhooks or an Azure Service Bus. Destinations work exactly the same as you would use the Delivery API, but instead of requesting the data from a client, the data is pushed to the chosen Destination. In Enterspeed, the use of a destination is configured on the schema level, and new data is sent every time the view is created, updated, or deleted.

Into the spotlight

Today, we are moving Destinations out of the shadows and into the spotlight. Previously, using Destinations was an on-request feature, but as of today, all tenants can set up Destinations using the Enterspeed Management App.

Currently, we support the following Destinations from the management app:

But what happens if something goes wrong? That's why we have Destination Logs 📝

Read more about the Destinations on our docs on integrating with Enterspeed, and we are working on making our other destinations available in the app as well. We are giddily excited to see what you can build with Destinations. As always, please reach out on your Slack support channel or via support@enterspeed.com with any questions.

If you don't have a tenant just yet, then please sign up for Enterspeed and try Destinations.
