A major Danish franchiser wanted a new website with high UX and a great editor experience. And they wanted to start from scratch rather than risk dragging legacy into the new solution. The result is a modern site built on MACH architecture.

Check out more about MACH: Going MACH? Do it right

Since all franchise owners – of whom there are quite a few – have editor access and frequently need to add content to the joint site, the underlying complexity of the site is rather extensive.

To orchestrate and accelerate the data sources, they chose Enterspeed as middlelayer.

Through Enterspeed, they now have lightning-fast data delivery between back- and frontend in a headless hub system, regardless of the systems in use. This makes it easier for both the headquarter web editors and the local franchise owners to create new content and swiftly pull data from third-party systems into the frontend.

It’s also very cool that their agency included our destination integration for Algolia in the setup. With the integration, the search engine can get its data directly from Enterspeed, where it’s already been ingested and prepared. Nice 😊

Tech stack:

  • Headless Umbraco (source)
  • Algolia (destination)
  • Employee system data (source)

The company can now introduce new systems, APIs, and integrations without causing regression in existing elements and code. In other words, the codebase can be replaced and updated much easier and faster without risking 'breaking something.'

The result is a composable, high-performing website with great user as well as editor experience despite a rather immense system complexity. With the chosen MACH architecture, the IT team can easily make changes to the stack – a flexibility that allows them to stay current and updated at all times.
